Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Duration: Ongoing - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours - Employment Type: Staff Job Summary /n The NICU Registered Nurse provides professional, compassionate nursing care to neonates within our Level III NICU. This role coordinates care planning with the multidisciplinary team and renders individualized, age-specific, and direct bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs. The RN systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice to support optimal patient outcomes. - Provide safe, evidence-based care to critically ill infants. - Act as a clinical leader by assessing, planning, delegating, and using independent judgment to direct other healthcare team members. - Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines to ensure coordinated patient care. - Participate in hourly rounding and follow safety guidelines and best practices. - Supervise and mentor other members of the healthcare team. - Minimum Requirements - Experience: At least 1 year of current hospital-based acute care RN experience in a NICU. - Education: Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school. - Certifications: - Current RN license in the State of Arizona (or compact license), - CPR - NRP (required upon orientation completion) - ACLS as applicable by facility/department - Preferred Requirements - Experience: At least 1 year of Level III NICU experience, including care of infants requiring conventional ventilators, HFOV, central lines, and therapeutic hypothermia. - Education: BSN - Certifications: Specialty certification a plus.
