Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Experience: • 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months. • Must have at least 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the past 3 years. • Experience with Epic is required from any number of months. Requirements: • Candidates must have a Mississippi license or compact license (required for submission). • This role may require floating to additional units and locations • Local & travel allowed. Candidates living • No current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - University of Mississippi Healthcare. Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Additional Details: Required Skills/Experience: - Experience with a lot of surgeries/high-acuity patients; must be comfortable with lines and chest tubes. - Trauma, post-surgical, general med-surg, and burn overflow patient population. Every patient is on telemetry. Heparin drips are used; amiodarone may be started before transfer to the cardiac unit. CPAP/BiPAP at night; RT assists. Shift & Scheduling: - 12 hours, 7a-7p or 7p-7a, 7on/7off. - Every other or 2 weekends per month is standard and could be higher to meet department needs. - Holiday requirement: rotate in with regular staff. - No call. - Guaranteed hours: 36/48 hours rotating per two weeks. Floating Requirements: - Within skillset, all staff float between all med-surg units. Higher-acuity patients would be given to core staff.
