Job Description Job Description Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Surgical Technologist Gastonia, NC Contract | 12-hour Night Shift | 1900-0700 | 36 Hours per Week A leading medical center with over 900 licensed beds and Level 1 Trauma Designation seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist to support its high-volume operating rooms. This Level 1 Trauma and Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital is recognized for excellence, including Magnet designation, chest pain, and stroke centers. Responsibilities: Assist surgical teams in 32 operating suites, handling 70-100 cases daily. Support a wide range of surgeries: general, cardiac, vascular, thoracic, orthopedic trauma, neuro spine, robotic-assisted, plastics, oncology, transplant, and microsurgery. Maintain proficiency in cardiac cases and orthopedic trauma, including head/neck free flap reconstructions. Collaborate with anesthesia teams, charge RNs, and OR assistants in a supportive environment. Comply with hospital EMR (EPIC), IV pump (Alaris), and medication dispensing (Omnicell) systems. Participate in on-call rotation and weekend call schedules requiring prompt availability. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years experience at a Level I or II Trauma Center (Level III or lower not accepted). Preferably 3 years of experience in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic cases. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program; CST certification preferred but not mandatory. Current BLS certification. Proven expertise in orthopedic trauma and microsurgical procedures. Scheduling & Requirements: Night shift: 1900-0700, 36 hours weekly. Weekend calls approximately every 6-8 weeks with a 1-hour response time. Holiday coverage required for 50% of contract holidays. First-time travelers not accepted. Free parking and provided scrub colors with extended sizing.
