Job Description Hospitalist opening in Machias, MELocated in Machias, ME - Bangor 90 miles, Portland 200 milesFull-timeInpatient Only Overview: Seeking a Hospitalist for a low-volume, community-based hospital Unique schedule - approximately 13 weeks per year Provide comprehensive inpatient care in a rural setting High level of autonomy with strong collaboration across departments Clinical Details: Manage up to ~17 inpatients per day Provide admissions, rounding, consultations, and discharges Coordinate care with primary care providers and specialists Participate in multidisciplinary discharge planning and case management Respond to emergency situations including Code Blue events Read EKGs and perform scheduled stress testing Provide 24/7 call coverage during assigned weeks (onsite and/or phone) Assist with ED consultations and inpatient care coordination Compensation & Benefits: Competitive compensation package Flexible schedule with extended time off (13 weeks/year) Malpractice provided Additional benefits may include CME and PTO About the Area:Machias is a coastal Maine town known for its scenic beauty, outdoor recreation, and close-knit community.
