Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN experience required. Deliver specialized care to patients recovering from surgery and acute illnesses in a skilled nursing setting focused on geriatric restoration. This role supports patients transitioning from high-tech hospitalization to community living, ensuring a seamless continuum of care. Location : Philippi, WV a welcoming small town rich in history and natural beauty. Nestled in a scenic area, it offers a peaceful lifestyle with access to outdoor activities and a close-knit community atmosphere. Responsibilities : Provide expert nursing care for post-operative patients including hips, knees, and shoulders, as well as those with pneumonia or congestive heart failure requiring rehabilitation. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including medicine, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy to promote optimal patient recovery. Manage admissions and physician orders as a charge nurse on the unit. Maintain compliance with unit protocols and infection control, including restrictions such as no false nails. Utilize electronic medical records systems (EPIC) to document patient care and communicate effectively. Participate in rotating weekend and holiday schedules. Qualifications & Desired Experience : Current RN licensure with stepdown nursing experience preferred. Familiarity with WV CARES Systems. Ability to work within nurse-to-patient ratios ranging between 1:9 and 1:12. Experience in a skilled nursing or transitional care environment advantageous. Must possess an unexpired drivers license due to location requirements. Professionalism in appearance (royal blue scrubs) and adherence to unit policies. Additional Details : Unit size: 32 beds Shift options: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Orientation: 1 to 2 shifts No floating, ensuring consistent assignment to the same unit. IV team support and 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy available.
