Registered Nurse Surgical Services: SMC PACU PWA

Mayo Clinic, a leading nonprofit medical practice dedicated to the holistic care and advancement in medical research, is seeking a experienced Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team at the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in SMC PWA. This role is crucial in ensuring high-quality care and safety of patients recovering from anesthesia. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of post-operative care procedures and the ability to respond to patient needs effectively. Monitor patient vital signs and levels of consciousness and identify any postoperative complications promptly. Administer medications, perform treatments, and observe reactions in a timely and accurate manner. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for the patient while promoting comfort and healing. Educate patients and their families on postoperative care requirements and health management at home. Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and report any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel. Proficient in the use of medical software and equipment required for patient care in PACU. Excellent decision-making and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state. BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification. Preferred: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification.
