Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/20/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Days, 5x8hrs - Hours: 40 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 20, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring 2 years of recent specialty experience, Epic proficiency, and active Kansas and Missouri (or compact) RN licensure. Details - Works in a Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab setting - Average daily census of 4 procedures per lab - Patient ratios of 1:4 on days and 1:3 on nights - Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00–16:30) - On-call required, including weekends, with call coverage across multiple facilities - Floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required on a regular basis - Charting system: Epic (experience required) - Procedures include complex PCI, diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, PCI, rotablator atherectomy, pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction, ventricular assist device insertion, right and left heart catheterizations, pharmacological stress testing, scrub and circulate procedures, sheath removal, and vascular closure systems - Preferred skills include ASD closures, cardiac implant closure devices, TAVR, valvuloplasty, Watchman procedure, and LAA closure - Additional clinical skills include Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, ventilator management, procedural sedation monitoring, ACT, dysrhythmia interpretation, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG, external compression devices, PICC line care, IV infusion pumps, blood product administration, and radiation/laser safety Requirements - Active RN license in both Kansas and Missouri, or a compact license, must be in hand at time of consideration - Current BLS and ACLS certifications required - Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab/EP specialty experience required - Must have at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year - Complex PCI experience required - Epic EMR experience required - Prior travel experience required - Teaching hospital experience preferred - 2 professional references required: one must be at supervisor level or above, the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from individuals who have worked with you within the past year - SSN required for consideration Additional Information - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are considered local and are not eligible for this position - RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract - Candidates who have worked at this health system within the past 18 months must have a minimum 3-month break in service before being eligible - Pre-start compliance modules must be completed prior to the start date; Epic training should be completed first, with a test-out option available - Infusion pump and glucometer training must be completed by the Sunday prior to the start date - No travel partners accepted - Scrubs are provided by the facility American Traveler Job ID P-685832.
