Lactation Consultant (RN, IBCLC)

MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lactation Consultant (RN, IBCLC) to join our patient-first healthcare team. This role is pivotal in providing expert breastfeeding and lactation education and support across our various facilities. As a Lactation Consultant, you will work closely with new mothers, families, and healthcare professionals to promote optimal lactation practices. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the early stages of motherhood, ensuring the health and wellness of both infants and mothers within the community. Conduct comprehensive assessments of lactation and develop personalized care plans. Educate mothers on breastfeeding techniques and lactation management. Address any issues or complications arising from breastfeeding and offer suitable solutions. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate lactation services. Follow up with patients to ensure successful breastfeeding practices. Maintain patient records and document all care provided.
