Surgical Technologist First Assistant

Legacy Health, a renowned non-profit health system, seeks a dedicated Surgical Technologist First Assistant to join our dynamic team. Located across Oregon and Washington, our facilities focus on innovative patient care and advanced medical practices. This role is pivotal in supporting surgeons during complex surgeries by ensuring the operating room environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and all surgical procedures are conducted under optimal conditions. The ideal candidate will bring expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for patient care to our interdisciplinary teams. Assist in surgical operations under the direct supervision of surgeons and registered nurses. Prepare operating rooms for surgery, arrange equipment, and help doctors during surgeries. Ensure all instruments and supplies are available and sterile. Apply sutures and dressings and assist with patient positioning. Maintain aseptic techniques; actively monitor situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique. Provide patient and family education regarding procedures. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide optimum patient care. Proficiency in operating room environments and surgical equipment. Strong understanding of sterilization and aseptic techniques. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure. Competency in applying sutures and assisting with invasive procedures. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required. Certification as a Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) strongly preferred.
