Class B Diesel Mechanic Technician

Performance Foodservice, a leader in food distribution across the U.S., seeks an adept Class B Diesel Mechanic Technician to maintain our distribution fleet. This crucial team member ensures smooth operations by servicing and repairing our diesel vehicles, pivotal in timely and safe delivery of food products. As part of our dedicated maintenance team, this role provides the chance to work with top-tier mechanical technologies and systems vital to the food logistics sector. Conduct routine and emergency maintenance of diesel vehicles according to company standards. Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment and implement appropriate repairs. Perform regular vehicle inspections as per maintenance schedules and safety regulations. Replace or repair damaged or worn-out parts and ensure detailed documentation of all maintenance work. Collaborate with the logistics team to schedule maintenance and minimize vehicle downtime. Follow all safety procedures and regulations set by the company and federal/state entities. Proficiency in diesel engine repair and maintenance. Ability to use diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills. Effective communication abilities for coordinating with logistics and management teams. Medical Insurance 401k Must possess a valid Class B commercial driver's license. ASE Diesel Certification highly preferred.
