Performance Foodservice, a leader in food distribution, is seeking an experienced Lead Diesel Mechanic Technician to maintain our fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring efficient and safe delivery of food products to our clients across the nation. As a senior member of our maintenance team, you will take charge of complex mechanical repairs and maintenance schedules, oversee junior mechanics, and contribute to the optimization of our logistic operations through superior vehicle reliability. Performing diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of diesel engines, transmissions, and other key components of heavy vehicles. Overseeing and guiding junior mechanics in daily tasks and long-term skills development. Scheduling routine inspections and maintenance to ensure compliance with national safety regulations and company standards. Managing inventory of parts and supplies, placing orders as needed. Collaborating with management to report on maintenance progress and vehicle performance concerns. Adopting and promoting workplace safety standards and practices within the team. Expert knowledge in diesel engines and heavy vehicle mechanics. Strong leadership and team management skills. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software used in vehicle maintenance. Ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
