Description: Interventional radiology is revolutionizing how many health services are delivered. It uses radiological technology to perform minimally invasive interventional techniques. The registered nurse will act as the first point of contact for referrals and patients. The role involves attending patient consultations. Initial examinations and patient assessments must be performed. Recommendations to the referring physician, the patient, and the patient's family will be made under the guidance of the interventional radiologist. The registered nurse will perform daily rounds. Communication of patient progress to the medical staff and the radiologist is essential. The population served includes adult and geriatric patients. Procedures performed include cardiac catheterization, EP ablations, peripheral angiograms, cerebral angiograms, and TEE/Cardioversions.
