Spanish Staff Interpreter

Lee Health is actively seeking a skilled Spanish Staff Interpreter to join our dynamic healthcare team in Southwest Florida. This role is pivotal in facilitating effective communication between our Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers, ensuring comprehension and quality of care across our hospitals and clinics. The interpreter will provide accurate and sensitive interpretation in real-time, aiding in consultations, medical procedures, and patient education, contributing to our commitment to excellent and inclusive healthcare services. Provide accurate face-to-face interpretation between patients and medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers. Translate medical documents such as patient information, medical records, and discharge instructions from English to Spanish and vice versa. Maintain confidentiality and neutrality, adhering to the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC) Code of Ethics. Assist in scheduling appointments and communicating medical concepts to patients and families. Educate healthcare providers on culturally competent care for Spanish-speaking patients. Participate in training and regular assessments to maintain and improve interpreting skills. Excellent proficiency in English and Spanish languages. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment. Cultural sensitivity and awareness. Knowledge of medical terminology in both languages.
