Refrigeration Technician

Performance Foodservice, a leader in food distribution across the United States, is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our Technical & Maintenance team. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and functionality of our refrigeration units, ensuring all perishable products are stored and transported under optimal conditions. As part of our team, you will work across various locations, applying your technical skills to ensure systems are operating effectively and efficiently, supporting the supply chain that delivers quality to every table. Perform routine and emergency maintenance on refrigeration units and systems, ensuring all are operating at peak efficiency. Troubleshoot, repair, and install HVAC and refrigeration equipment within trucks and facility locations. Regularly inspect and test refrigeration systems for potential issues, taking preventive measures to avoid downtime. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, system performance, and repairs, complying with state and federal regulations. Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to schedule maintenance and minimize impact on operations. Ensure safety standards and procedures are followed to maintain a safe working environment. Expertise in HVAC and refrigeration systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and repairs. Ability to work in various environmental conditions, such as cold environments and outdoor settings. Proficient in using tools and technology necessary for repairing and maintaining refrigeration systems. Effective communication skills for interacting with other technical staff and reporting to management.
