Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa (US-IA) - Dubuque Function: Product Engineering Title: Product Engineer, Hydraulic Systems - 31019 Your Responsibilities As a Product Engineer, for John Deere's Construction & Forestry Division (Dubuque Works), you will develop, analyze, and implement hydraulic system solutions for the Tracked Feller Buncher/Harvester Forestry product line. In addition, you will: * Participate in new product development from initial designs to production for entire hydraulic systems including pumps, hydraulic motors, valves, pilot systems, filtration systems and plumbing. * Lead in the investigation and troubleshooting of hydraulic system issues and assisting our product support organization. * Support the development of Product Verification and Validation plans, supplier technical integration, and quality planning activities for new product designs. * Travel to logging sites to gain an understanding of the specific machine forestry application. * Work with external suppliers to integrate hydraulic components into the Track Feller Buncher/Harvester hydraulic systems. What Skills You Need * Engineering experience gained from educational projects, relevant internships and/or practical work experience. * Understanding of mobile hydraulic system design (including pumps and valves in a load sense hydraulic system). * Experience using 3D modeling software, such as Creo (Pro-E). * Ability to interpret hydraulic schematic diagrams. * Ability and willingness to travel both domestic and internationally, up to 25%. What Makes You Stand Out Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include: * Experience with forestry equipment or other heavy-duty off-highway equipment. * Hydraulic routed systems design of off-highway equipment. * Hydraulic system troubleshooting and/or root cause analysis related to field issues of hydraulic systems. * Experience using Windchill PDM Link application as it relates to the design release process. * Knowledge of other vehicle functional areas, such as: structures, powertrain, cooling, and electrical. * Understanding of full-tree and cut to length forestry methods & application as it relates to design requirements. Education (or equivalent work experience) * Bachelor's degree in Agricultural, Forestry, Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
