Client Reference Code: 196748 JOB SUMMARY Hands-on engineer with a customer-service focus and a willingness to work as part of a high level and professional team MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Troubleshoots and repair television studio and field equipment * Provide operational support for IT networks, automation systems, workstations and users * Support and troubleshoot PC/MAC hardware & software * Maintain RF, satellite and fiber transport equipment * Install video/audio equipment and PC workstations * Install, troubleshoot and maintain ENG/DSNG satellite systems * Light general facilities maintenance * Perform other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Skills/Abilities and Knowledge * Technical background with PC's, MAC, software and networking * A strong technical background in ENG/DSNG trucks, satellite systems, fiber networks and studio automation a must * Time Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities * Interpersonal: ability to interface with internal company and division personnel at various levels and outside equipment vendors and suppliers * Communication: strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate solutions; and able to relate well with diverse populations and age groups * Requires adaptability, enthusiasm, initiative and a positive approach to problem solving. Must enjoy working with people and assisting staff with technical support issues * Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license for authorized driving in the State of residence * Must adhere to schedule guidelines * Must be able and willing to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes Education Related Work Experience Number of Years Preferred QUALIFICATIONS Skills/Abilities and Knowledge * Previous experience with 24 hr television news a plus Education * Minimum two year degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience in a Broadcast environment Related Work Experience Number of Years * Previous experience in Broadcast environment Working Conditions * Inside and outside throughout the year. May be subjected to various weather conditions, which could include extreme hot and cold * Requires travel to remote locations including news bureaus, sports venues, fiber hub sites, cable headends and other locations * Can require long periods of personal computer use and phone communications. * Communicates in person, by phone and by email * Must be able to work under time pressure deadlines and willing and able to work different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies.
