Note: this position can be located at any mindSHIFT Technologies location. POSITION PROFILE This is technical work involving both proactive and reactive support and management of multiple medium, and enterprise level Backup/Recovery software solutions. Monitoring and maintaining server backups and software updates as needed. Maintains all system documentation of current production systems. Provides escalation point for other backup engineers. Manage backup projects and initiatives for clients and internal systems. Responsible for platforms of hosted solutions including storage, hardware, and operating systems. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform first line problem analysis and systems backup monitoring * Perform backup application maintenance * Work with engineers regarding monitoring alerts and client issues * Provide weekend and off-hours recovery support, as needed * Provide field and NOC escalation support for backup related problems * Help lead and design process and procedures within the team to facilitate continue operational improvement * Backup application administration design and consulting for mindSHIFT engineers and clients * Work with mindSHIFT employees and clients regarding backup status and problems * Ability to manage backup projects and initiatives * Ability to lead and demonstrate ability to highly technical audiences or laymen alike. * Ability to lead the design and best practices of several backup solutions. * Input and manage tickets through our CRM system * Generate documentation for processes as needed * Learn and follow company policies and procedures * Perform in a fast paced, high volume environment * Perform related tasks as required QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications) Typically Required: * Bachelor's degree in computer science or f ive or more years of experience in IT, with some responsibility around backup and hosted services * Equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience totaling one year of experience can be substituted KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Knowledge of backup systems * Knowledge of Windows Server operating systems * Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory with a focus on the ability to recover. * Familiar with networks and TCP/IP * Knowledge of ESX and HyperV virtualization platforms. * Knowledge of Linux/Unix a plus * Familiarity with several of the following backup products: eVault, ShadowProtect, Veeam, Vembu, Backup Exec, CommVault * Strong teamwork skills and a systems approach to technology support * Strong troubleshooting skills and a good foundation of best practices * High level of verbal and written communications * Customer service experience * Ability to deal courteously with all mindSHIFT customers Ricoh is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer -- Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled.
