Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa (US-IA) - Urbandale Function: Product Engineering Title: Senior Software Engineer - 30915 Your Responsibilities As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be an active member of an Agile software development team, working closely with other team members to ensure that the software, data and necessary equipment function together to meet or exceed the product specifications. In addition you will: * Be responsible for evaluating and developing high quality software solutions to improve performance, quality and cost for John Deere ISG customers. * Embody the mindset that test automation at all levels is critical to our success in the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment landscape and will champion furthering the teams' ability to do so. * Lead and coordinate the design and execution of testing automation and integration with other dependent software engineering teams. * Work with stakeholders, architects and engineering teams to reach agreement on the requirements and system design. * Work with interaction designers to develop the user interface requirements. *** U.S. visa sponsorship is NOT available for the role. *** What Skills You Need * Four (4) or more years of Test Driven Development, Acceptance Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment experience. * Four (4) or more years of experience designing and executing test automation for large scale applications. * Four (4) or more years of experience in Web Client, Java and/or Node.js server-side programming/software development. * Two (2) or more years of Agile and XP software development process experience * One (1) or more years of experience coaching and mentoring experience. * Experience with applications development environment, database, data administration and infrastructure capabilities and constraints. * Excellent analytical and problem solving ability. * Experience in roles that required demonstration of excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. What Makes You Stand Out Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include: * Experience delivering grower and/or agronomic-centric web based solutions. * Experience working with Amazon Web Services platform technologies; Elastic Beanstalk, API Gateway, Lambda, Elastic-search, RDS, EC2, S3, SQS. * Experience designing and building solutions based on Micro-service architecture. * Demonstrated ability to work with complex host applications requiring high performance and scalability. Education Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following: * Bachelors of Arts/Science in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering.
