Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa (US-IA) - Ottumwa Function: Product Engineering Title: Test Lab Engineer - 31012 Your Responsibilities As a Test Lab Engineer for John Deere, you will create test and/or evaluation techniques to validate new designs for components and sub-systems. You will write test instructions, acceptance criteria, and reports for lab tests. In addition, you will: * Perform test data analysis to determine whether acceptance criteria are met * Assist multi-functional teams with creation of an overall test plan for new features or components * Develop test fixture concepts, models, and designs component and sub-system validation * Work with suppliers to define, execute, and document validation of their components for Hay & Forage applications * Facilitate resolution of technical problems by assisting project teams in the determination and validation of root causes and verification of solutions US visa sponsorship is not available for this role. What Skills You Need * Basic knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering principles * Mechanical design or test engineering experience * Experience with 3D modeling software, such as Pro/E * Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25% What Makes You Stand Out * Basic knowledge and understanding of the operation of, or function of, hay and forage equipment * Basic understanding of data acquisition systems and their application * Knowledge and understanding of statistical methodology * Knowledge of test data analysis for fatigue/life prediction Education (or equivalent experience) * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering What You'll Get At John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go.
