<span><B>Business Analyst job opportunity located in Washington, DC. &nbsp;</B><br>This is a 6 month contract which is likely to extend long term based on performance and budget.<br>&nbsp;<br><B>Responsibilities:</B><br>&bull; Interface with the client to understand and document business needs and requirements relating to the development and maintenance of the systems used for departmental/corporate needs. Further, the Business Analyst is expected to help develop and maintain the client relationship with the line of business staff members <br>&bull; Identify business and functional requirements by working primarily with the client officer and line of business staff members and end-users, and lead the collection, analysis, documentation and coordination of those requirements. <br>&bull; Craft business cases/ use cases/ sequence of events/ system interactions if any <br>&bull; Collaborate with IT professionals to determine if solutions currently exist (internally or externally) or whether new solutions are feasible to meet requirements. <br>&bull; Provide overall support to ensure the successful design, testing and implementation of QRA applications.<br>&bull; Document and manage issues and actions during the course of the project and track to closure action items related to scope<br>&bull; Evaluate applications and analyze gaps between current and desired states. <br>&bull; Document business and IT processes and workflows as it relates to the business need.<br>&bull; Participate in the design and development of applications representing the clients perspective<br>&bull; Good knowledge and experience with banking/ financial services products/ tools. <br>&bull; Extensive experience in documenting business requirements, developing functional specifications, defining test cases, executing test scripts, and providing user training and support. <br>&bull; Excellent oral and written communication skills. <br>&bull; Quantitative background would be helpful for mathematical analysis <br>&bull; Fundamental knowledge of SharePoint and .Net based technologies would be an asset<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br><B>SKILLS:</B><br>&bull; He/she must have at least years 6 years of experience in being a Business Analyst. Four years Technical degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering, or an MBA. &nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br><B>Required Skills:</B><br>1. Extensive experience in eliciting requirements using interviews, questionnaires, use cases, scenarios, task and workflow analysis<br>2. Ability to translate requirements into visual representation with diagrams, flow charts, state diagrams, sequence diagrams, mockups &amp; wireframes.<br>3. Proactively communicate and collaborate with sponsors to analyze information and prepare detailed business case &amp; functional requirements. &nbsp;<br>4. Experience with short cycles and requirements analysis/ definition for rapid application development<br>5. Work independently and engage in multiple initiatives / projects <br>6. Strong analytical skills to understand problem statement and help define requirements <br>7. Serves as a communication channel between sponsor and development team &nbsp;<br>8. Subject matter knowledge of financial products &amp; services <br>9. Excellent written and verbal skills <br>10. Knowledge and appreciation of technology platforms and assisting the team with preparation of test scenarios <br>11. Knowledge of Rational / Visio tools is a bonus <br>12.
